What does the UTV Academy offer?

Working at a tank terminal requires expertise, precision and constant attention to safety. Requirements for technology, processes, laws and regulations continue to evolve, while new employees need to be onboarded quickly and thoroughly. For the German tank storage sector, the UTV Academy offers a solution. This digital learning platform of the Unabhängiger Tanklagerverband e.V. (UTV) supports companies in training, upskilling and keeping their employees up to date. The new promotional video shows what the platform offers and who it is intended for.

The video was produced under the direction of Stefanie Wijsman, Account Manager UTV Academy, and Jean-Pierre de Bont, Content Developer and Training Coordinator.

Rooted in the industry

UTV is the association representing independent tank storage companies in Germany. Its member companies saw the need for an academy of their own, focused specifically on the practice of the German tank storage sector. The UTV Academy was established in 2020. The content has been developed specifically for the German market and is aligned with German laws and regulations and with day-to-day practice in the German tank storage sector. As a result, employees work with learning material that directly reflects the rules and conditions they encounter in their own working environment.

For new and experienced employees

The UTV Academy is intended for everyone working in the tank storage sector. New employees and career changers gain the knowledge they need to start work safely and well prepared. Experienced employees use the Academy to refresh, deepen or update their professional knowledge.
Companies use the UTV Academy to develop and safeguard the competence of their staff in a structured way. New developments in the industry and changes in laws and regulations are continuously incorporated into the learning content. Part of the content is also relevant to other links in the logistics chain, such as inland waterway, road and rail transport.

Widely used across the sector

The UTV Academy is used by companies including WESER-PETROL, TABEG, TransTank, FBG, Wilhelm Hoyer, Exolum, USG Blexen, enport, Sunoco, MUT, GÖR, UNITANK, M+F and Evos. In addition, other companies use the Academy through individual licences.
