Maritime Auditor (inland shipping)

Job description
Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for performing safety and quality inspections within the maritime sector and advising clients on legislation and regulations. You’ll work in direct contact with both colleagues and clients and support them during internal and external audits.

Responsibilities / tasks

• Conducting safety inspections/audits, primarily on inland vessels (and possibly terminals)

• Writing and submitting reports

• Providing training on board / on location

• Delivering safety training sessions on board

• Performing incident investigations

• Participating in the emergency response team (on-call service in evenings and weekends for several weeks per year)

• Supporting and implementing fleet management systems

• Carrying out alcohol and drug testing

Requirements

• Good command of Dutch and English

• Able to work independently and in a structured manner, while being a team player

• Flexible attitude, no 9-to-5 mentality

• Affinity with the maritime sector

• Computer skills

• In possession of an Auditor certificate and/or Safety Adviser certificate, or willing to obtain one

• In possession of relevant technical diplomas

• Valid driving licence

• Living in the Netherlands, preferably within 50 km of Rotterdam
